Introducing WorkWell Access: Reduced-Cost Accommodation Evaluations

Cost should not be the reason someone goes without documentation for a workplace accommodation.
We hear from people regularly who are in exactly the position this service exists for. They have a condition that makes their current work arrangement difficult. Their employer has asked for documentation. Their treating provider will not write the letter, or they do not have a treating provider, or the practice that would do it quoted them four figures. And the evaluation that would solve the problem costs more than they have this month.
Starting today we are piloting WorkWell Access, a program that sets aside five Standard Evaluation slots each month at $89 instead of $169.
What Access is
An Access evaluation is a full Standard Evaluation. The same independent PSYPACT-licensed psychologists we partner with, the same intake, the same 15-minute video consultation, the same accommodation letter written to the same standard, and the same turnaround.
It includes our Accommodation Request Kit, a $49 digital guide covering how to make the request, what to say to HR, and what to do if your employer pushes back.
Providers are paid their full standard rate for Access evaluations, and they are not told which evaluations are conducted under the program. There is no second-tier version of this service, and there was never going to be one.
No documentation, no questions
Access is self-attested. We do not ask for pay stubs, benefit statements, tax returns, or an explanation. We do not ask why you are requesting a slot, and we will not ask if you volunteer to tell us.
Means-testing a program like this costs more in administrative burden and in dignity than it saves in misuse. If you email us and say you need a slot, we take you at your word.
Why only five
We are treating this as a pilot. After a few months of running it and seeing how demand, capacity, and provider bandwidth actually behave, we expect to raise the number. If the pilot works the way we think it will, five is a floor rather than a ceiling.
What Access does not cover
Access covers a single Standard Evaluation. It does not include Complete Support, reevaluations, or add-on services at program pricing. If you later need an additional employer form completed, a letter revision, or a call between your provider and your HR team, those are available at standard prices within 90 days of your evaluation.
More importantly, Access does not change anything about the clinical side. Your provider makes an independent determination about whether an accommodation letter is clinically appropriate. If they decide it is not, you will not receive a letter. For Access participants specifically, your $89 is refunded in full in that circumstance.
And no evaluation, at any price, obligates your employer to approve your request. An employer must engage in the interactive process in good faith, but it may deny a request that would impose undue hardship, and it may offer a different accommodation that is also effective rather than the one you asked for. Our accommodation FAQ covers what employers can and cannot do in more detail.
Who it is for
Anyone who would use the regular service but cannot manage the regular price this month.
The practical requirements are the same as always. You need to be currently employed, at least 18, and physically located in a participating PSYPACT jurisdiction during your video appointment. What matters is where you are sitting during the call, not where you live or where your employer is based.
This is for workplace accommodations, meaning changes to how, when, or where you work so that you can keep working. It is not for medical leave. We do not provide FMLA certification or complete FMLA paperwork at any price, because that requires an established treating relationship a one-time evaluation cannot support.
How to request a slot
Email access@workwellevals.com with your name and the state you will be in during your appointment. That is everything we need.
A person reads every request. Within three business days you will get one of two replies: a private booking link if a slot is open, or the date slots reset if the month is full. We hold requests that arrive after the month fills.
From there the process is identical to any other WorkWell evaluation. You pick your provider, book directly on their calendar, complete your clinical intake, and attend a 15-minute consultation.
Full details are on the WorkWell Access page.
If you can pay the regular price
Please do, and skip the queue.
Slots are limited and answered in order, so there is a wait. If $169 is manageable for you, booking at the regular rate gets you an appointment faster and leaves a slot open for someone who needs it. That is not a sales line. Five slots is a small number and the program only works if the people using it are the people it is for.
If you are weighing the cost against other options, our breakdown of what accommodation evaluations actually cost covers the full range, including the ones that are cheaper than us or free. Your existing treating provider writing the letter is usually the best option available, and it usually costs nothing. We would rather you exhaust that first.
For advocacy organizations and counselors
If you work with people who need ADA accommodation documentation and cannot afford it, you are welcome to point them to workwellevals.com/access or have them email us directly. There is no referral agreement and nothing we need from you.
We are also happy to answer questions about scope, provider credentials, or whether a particular situation is a fit before you send anyone our way.
What happens next
We will report back on how the pilot goes. If demand exceeds five a month by a wide margin, that is useful information and it is the argument for expanding.
In the meantime, if you have been putting off an evaluation because of the price, email us.
